Give Thanks [Donnez-Merci, Da gracias]

Good Day, Beautiful People!

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all my American Friends! Is one Holiday that I adopted on heart and practise for a long time. It is awesome to put aside one day in a year to sit with loved ones to celebrate and be thankful for the harvest and grateful for the year.

I’m overjoyed and thankful 2015 is my very first American Thanksgiving!  I was invited a few time to attend in the previous years but only able to attend this year! My friend, Holly host a big fundraiser Thanksgiving Party to feed some college students and friends donate for money to her missionaries friends. Each year the size of the party grow. This year we have 100 people attended.

Together, We gooble up four turkeys, two serving plates of cornbread, mash, sweet potatoes pies, apple pies, pecan pies, pumpkin pies, ice cream, banana pudding, jello, and candies. She and her hubby had spent two days cooking up a storm on a very scorching summer day in Oz. I think she really the queen of hospitality and deserve an award for that. She has to hire all the party gears to fit all her guests in her huge backyard.

The photo above is just the deserts table. I forgot to take a photo of the main table food.

 I leave you with these pearl of wisdom:

Happy Thanksgiving

Good Day, Beautiful People! Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

This is one good holiday that we can adopt to celebrate!
It makes us stop and reflect on being thankful regardless our circumstances.

Last year at my business and professional women network connect Thanksgiving cum Christmas Party, I gave the ladies each a gratitude journal as a gift. The reason behind this gift is encouraging them to focus on being thankful.

I wrote a love note on the first page of each gratitude Journal:
Beloved,
In the bible is written
“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love is eternal” Ps107:1, Ps136:1, Ps118:1, 1Chron16:34
Let us focus on being thankful, you will find much to be thankful for!
The challenge is to give thanks even our life is not perfect or facing horrible circumstances.
When life seems to be one discouragement, disappointment, disease, disaster, tragedy and death after another.
Choose to “Thank God in everything (no matter what the circumstances maybe, be thankful, gives thanks) for this is the will of God for you (who are) in Christ Jesus…” 1Thess5:18

This year as we met for our Gratitude and Christmas celebration I requested the ladies to share one of their gratitude journal entries. The result was astounding. Our hearts are full of thankfulness. We are all enriched by the sharing. These brave women rise up and overcome different challenges with grateful hearts.

Sharing these poems that touched and moved my heart.

More Than A Day
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.
We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We’re wealthy, when push comes to shove.
So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you’ve got;
Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.

I’m Thankful for You
Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.
You are one of those people.
On Thanksgiving,
I’m thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope your heart is opened and grateful after reading this. Happy to hear what you are thankful for this year.

Wired Worship, Unwired Whinging

Good Day, Beautiful People! [Bonne journée Beau! Buen día Bella!]

IMG_4046.JPG
Everyone worship something…
Self, Someone, Money, Idols, Earth, Animals, Celebrities, Sport, Food, Things, Substance, Devil, Satan, Jesus and God.
Worship is important in every believer daily life. Sing if there is barrenness in any area of your life; physical, psychological, relational or financial.

IMG_4047.JPG
Sing like Isaiah 54.
God Brings His People Home
“Woman, be happy!
You have not had any children,
but you should be very happy.
“Yes, the woman who is alone[a]
will have more children than the woman with a husband.”
2 This is what the Lord says.
“Make your tent bigger.
Open your doors wide.
Don’t think small!
Make your tent large and strong,
3 because you will grow in all directions.
Your children will take over many nations
and live in the cities that were destroyed.
4 Don’t be afraid!
You will not be disappointed.
People will not say bad things against you.
You will not be embarrassed.
When you were young, you felt shame.
But you will forget that shame now.
You will not remember the shame you felt
when you lost your husband.[b]
5 Your real husband is the one who made you.
His name is the Lord All-Powerful.
The Holy One of Israel is your Protector,[c]
and he is the God of all the earth!
6 “Like a woman whose husband has left her,
you were very sad.
You were like a young wife left all alone.
But the Lord has called you back to him.”
This is what your God says.
7 “For a short time I turned away from you,
but with all my love I will welcome you again.
8 I was so angry that for a while I did not want to see you.
But now I want to comfort you with kindness forever.”
The Lord your Savior said this.
9 “Remember, in Noah’s time I punished the world with the flood.
But I made a promise to Noah that I would never again destroy the world with water.
In the same way, I promise that I will never again be angry with you
and say bad things to you.
10 “The mountains may disappear,
and the hills may become dust,
but my faithful love will never leave you.
I will make peace with you,
and it will never end.”
The Lord who loves you said this.
11 “You poor city!
Enemies came against you like storms,
and no one comforted you.
But I will rebuild you.
I will use a beautiful mortar to lay the stones of your walls.
I will use sapphire stones when I lay the foundation.
12 The stones on top of the wall will be made from rubies.
I will use shiny jewels for the gates.
I will use precious stones to build the walls around you.
13 I, the Lord, will teach your children,
and they will have real peace.
14 You will be built on goodness.
You will be safe from cruelty and fear.
So you will have nothing to fear.
Nothing will come to hurt you.
15 I will never send anyone to attack you.
And if any army tries to attack you, you will defeat them.
16 “Look, I made the blacksmith. He blows on the fire to make it hotter. Then he takes the hot iron and makes the kind of tool he wants to make. In the same way, I made the ‘Destroyer’ to destroy things.
17 “People will make weapons to fight against you, but their weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you, but anyone who speaks against you will be proved wrong.”
The Lord says, “That is what my servants get! They get the good things[d] that come from me, their Lord.

Worship definition- Reverent honour, homage paid to God, adoring reverence, glorify and adoration.
Worship:
When you are on your knees, in stillness, waiting on God. [God is silence does not equate to He abandons or forsakes you.“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Heb13:5]
When you take your stand, raise your arm and ready for battle like Joshua.
When you raise your arms in victory like Deborah in book of Judges 5.

The first song that is recorded in the living word:
The Song of Moses and Miriam
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.
2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense[a];
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.
4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.[b]
5 The deep waters have covered them;
they sank to the depths like a stone.
6 Your right hand, Lord,
was majestic in power.
Your right hand, Lord,
shattered the enemy.

7 “In the greatness of your majesty
you threw down those who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger;
it consumed them like stubble.
8 By the blast of your nostrils
the waters piled up.
The surging waters stood up like a wall;
the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy boasted,
‘I will pursue, I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils;
I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword
and my hand will destroy them.’
10 But you blew with your breath,
and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.
11 Who among the gods
is like you, Lord?
Who is like you—
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?
12 “You stretch out your right hand,
and the earth swallows your enemies.
13 In your unfailing love you will lead
the people you have redeemed.
In your strength you will guide them
to your holy dwelling.
14 The nations will hear and tremble;
anguish will grip the people of Philistia.
15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified,
the people[c] of Canaan will melt away;
16 terror and dread will fall on them.
By the power of your arm
they will be as still as a stone—
until your people pass by, Lord,
until the people you bought[d] pass by.
17 You will bring them in and plant them
on the mountain of your inheritance—
the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling,
the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.
18 “The Lord reigns
for ever and ever.”
19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen[e] went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.
20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.
21 Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.”

Praise definition- The act of expressing approval or admiration; commendation; laudation. The offering of grateful homage in words or song, as an act of worship.
Praise will protect your life and will preserve your soul.
There are two times in our lives to praise God:
When you feel like it.
When you don’t feel like it.
Either way, He is worthy to be praise! Giving God praise and gratitude is a choice we get to decide daily. As believers we have more than sufficient to be thankful. Jesus’ love and God’s grace are more than abundant to keep us grateful for the rest of eternity.
