Happy St Valentine’s Day to all that celebrate love. Divine Love from above, Love for self, Love for Lovers, Love for families, Love for friends, Love for pets and Love for community.
Without doubt, we understand not all people will be happy on St Valentine’s Day. Some people are going to be heart broken, disappointed, jealous, sad, depressed and lonely. I totally comprehend those who boycott Valentine’s Day for above reasons and others think that is too commercialise maybe for the young and for the rich. Well, I just happen to think it is about showing appreciation of love to people you care around you even you’re not in a relationship. It doesn’t have to cost you an arm or a leg. You just have to be a bit creative like my beloved or my mom.
When a woman knows who she is. She doesn’t respond to what she is not. Never compromise your destiny with bad company just because you are feeling lonely. There is nothing wrong with singleness. I’m a true believer of this notion “better to be single than to settle down for second best”. This is not a cliche, the right attention from a wrong individual during a lonely time can fool you into thinking they might be the one. Finding someone worth waking up to is always going to be better than finding someone to sleep with.
The People I know are pretty savvy just in case you need to point someone in your world the right direction. Well, the reverse is true too! Gentlemen… In case, you’re confused. God will never send you someone else’s wife.
Friends, your Divine Prince of Peace has died for you and love you the way you are because you are beautiful, worthy and valuable. You’re loved. So don’t let someone who doesn’t appreciate your worth destroy your future. You deserve someone better. Maybe someone has to repeat this out loud in front of the mirror to sink in.
My advice for the singles is never ever chase love, affection or attention. If it isn’t given freely by another person, it isn’t worth having. The gospel truth is You don’t need someone to complete you. You need someone to accept you completely. And seriously, it doesn’t matter who hurt you or broke you down. What matter is who make you smile again.
Now listen to your heart, if you know you have found someone special or if you love someone have the courage to let the person know. Because hearts are often broken by words left unspoken. Remember, the someone maybe a great guy or great girl but that doesn’t mean he or she is the One for you.
Do something special for yourself or family or single friends. Turn it into a day of self pampering. My mom used to deck the home, get nice treats or baked for us as a family. Some years, we go out to see a movie together. Other years, we go shopping together follow by a lovely meal in a family restaurant. She pretty much influence me in a way that I feel fine to be single and didn’t feel pressure of hooking up with someone. I guess when you feel loved up, you don’t feel the need to go out with any random guys who interested in you or rush into a relationship especially you know in your heart is not right in the first place. These days is not easy to be bombarded by media, social media, celebs and peer pressure to have a relationship as a teenage. Well, my parents used to say if the guys you want to date must be able to provide for his future family. He better be paying for your dates. If you think he has potential great ask him to come back in a few years time. I think most parents will like my parents saying “if the guy is still using his parents’ money means he can’t even take care of himself. He has not earn the right to have relationship with you.” I’m not even talking about conviction and characters of person of interest yet. I guess my folks has set the bar pretty high for me to consider dating anyone they will approve. You may think this is easy for my parents to preach on that because I’m a girl. The truth is my brother pay for meals 90% of time with us and even with his in laws extended family. I’m not suggesting you have to follow what we do.
