“I am about to do something brand new. It is bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a new road through the desert, rivers in badlands.” Isaiah 43:19 MSG
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 NLT
Our HOPE is not in the new year… but in the ONE who make all things New!
Good day, Beautiful people!
Today, I am sharing with you something I never ever do before. Is always good to challenge yourself to do new things, see something for the first time or learn a new skill or go for a new adventure. We never ever graduate from learning in this world till we are promoted and change your address to Heaven.
As a child, you are in for new things. Each day you wake up to learn new things and of course you go to formal or home school to educate yourself and equip yourself. Enrol yourself with extra activities like sports, arts, drama and dancing. Most of us when we become adults doing or experience new things are optional or even non existence. Ask yourself: “When is the last time you try something new for the first time or have a new adventure or a new experience even something outside your comfort zone?
God, the Creator of Universe, love new things and love doing a new thing!!! Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. (Psalms 33:3 NLT)
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19 NLT)
Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD! (Psalms 96:1 NLT)
They are brand new, not things from the past. So you cannot say, ‘We knew that all the time!’ (Isaiah 48:7 NLT)
Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. (2 Corinthians 3:12 NLT)
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19 NLT)
Last month, I signed up city to surf, a 14km run. Some people think I am insane. Some people are not happy about my decision thinking I’ll kill myself doing it. Others who are cheering me on and supporting my crazy new project running for a good cause.
Before my health was compromise, I was fit and able to do walking, jogging, cross country running, gym workout, Pilate and a bit of Zumba. After my operation, I was not as fit as I used to be.
I choose to BELIEVE my Jesus has healed me totally! I declare healing and my strong army of faith filled people praying and believe with me.
I choose to take responsibility of taking care of my body. Healthy eating habits, reduce stress level, keep fit and rest.
You know you must be doing something right when start something new, all hell broke loose or things in your world just gone wrong. The enemy is not happy. But ” You just keep smiling at the enemy because this will make him mad knowing God has you covered.” -Bobbie Houston. Guess what, soon after I signed up for this fundraiser run, I was not well. After two course of strong antibiotics, a body procedure, drama, sore body and misunderstanding with two people. Is so easy for me to quit and let the enemy win. I choose the road less travelled. Pause, breathe and smile at the enemy because I know I will have my victory and the last laugh! Continue training… Not my personal best, but is my best for now 14Km in 126.41mins. Afterall, being a slow runner is better than not moving at all. Love this running humour “Slow runners make fast runners look good. You are welcome!”
By the way, if you like to sponsor me for this cause the link is below: https://city2surf2014.everydayhero.com/au/angela-12
Thank you in advance for stopping by and showing act of kindness. Will post some photos after the event. Stay tune!
May 28 2014, the world has lost a legendary poet, author, teacher and warrior of peace, equality and tolerence, Dr Maya Angelou. Heaven gains a great heroine. Her writing has inspired and encouraged multitude in America and around the world. Even though she led a kaleidoscopic life, her writings was so soulful, sensible and pragmatic. Good night, Dr Maya Angelou. You will always live in our hearts. One day, we will meet in heaven.
In case for some reason you are not familiar with her handiwork, you are in for more than just a treat. It is encouraging, empowering, powerful and life changing. Sharing some of my all time favourites, Dr Maya Angelou’s poems.
Still I Rise
You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may tread me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? ‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I’ll rise.
Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you? Don’t you take it awful hard ‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines Diggin’ in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I’ve got diamonds At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history’s shame I rise Up from a past that’s rooted in pain I rise I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear I rise Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise.
Touched by Angel
We, unaccustomed to courage exiles from delight live coiled in shells of loneliness until love leaves its high holy temple and comes into our sight to liberate us into life.Love arrives and in its train come ecstasies old memories of pleasure ancient histories of pain. Yet if we are bold, love strikes away the chains of fear from our souls. We are weaned from our timidity In the flush of love’s light we dare be brave And suddenly we see that love costs all we are and will ever be. Yet it is only love which sets us free.
Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them, They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It’s the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can’t touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can’t see. I say, It’s in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.
Now you understand Just why my head’s not bowed. I don’t shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It’s in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, the palm of my hand, The need of my care, ‘Cause I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
The free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends and dips his wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky.
But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom
The free bird thinks of another breeze and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own.
But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom.
Below is a significant teeny portion of Dr Maya Angelou interview with Oprah Winfrey.
I will leave you with her last profound tweet, ” Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.” It is still resounding in my heart.
Emailing is one of our modern days communication that we cannot live without. My love and hate of emails has been consistent since day one. I am one of those people who constantly and laboriously delete emails, empty junk, spam emails and block senders. Nevertheless, it is always welcoming to start or end my work day with lovely inspiring and encouraging emails. Today is one of those good days.
My beloved supporters aka subscribers are now familiar with my beautiful and creative mate, Melinda Fletcher. Without fail, she regularly emails me and other friends her new piece of poem, work of genius. Well, sit back and enjoy.
1 John 4:17b; because as He is, so are we in this world.
Well, who like to argue with Dr Seuss’s philosophy. I’m sticking to his side. “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.”
To truly laugh, you must be able take pain, and play with it. – Charlie Chaplin
We all know that life is never a bed of roses. There are seasons and you cannot avoid. During the season of darkness and pain, you literally have to take every once of body to find that joy. You need some people come along side to create the laughter, tell you jokes and see some comedy movies to lighten the hard season. Challenging season don’t last, the strong people last. Soon you will able to laugh and play again without effort.
Sharing this as it cracks me up! Lol Can’t wait to see the movie Noah by Russell Crowe.
“My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have courage to accept love in return.” – Maya Angelou
Wisdom to ponder:
Love this promise:
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the future. – Proverbs 31:25
Good Day, Beautiful People!
Welcome on aboard! Let my thoughts flow smoothly, my sharing journey begins… type away my dreamy slow-moving little fingers…
Love these quotes by the late Mother Teresa, Nobel Prize Winner. I reckon if we can live by these quotes regardless of creed, race and nationality will make us all better human beings. This world will be a more beautiful and kinder place.
If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
I know God won’t give me anything I can’t handle.
I just wish he didn’t trust me so much.
Every time you smile at someone,
it is an action of love,
a gift to that person,
a beautiful thing.
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try. Live simply so others may simply live.
Prayer is not asking.
Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God,
at His disposition,
and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.
I can do things you cannot,
you can do things I cannot;
together we can do great things.
