Good Day, Beautiful People!

Chapter One of 2016 is gone… Hope it was a great start of the year for you. For my Northern Hemisphere friends are thankful that the long cold winter is ending and welcoming the spring.  Over the Southern Hemisphere, we enjoy summer with our family, loved ones and friends. Some took time off work or leave to have a getaway to reconnect, replenish, rewind, regroup, relax and refocus with the Creator, self and loved ones.

Ready to kick start Chapter Two of 2016. Big welcome to Happy February where most of us go back into our routine school and work life.  The challenge is not just to do the routine like Groundhog Day last year. There is this saying by Robin Sharma “Don’t live the same year 75 times and called it a life.” I guess is up to us individually to question, redefine, confront and claim our real purposeful lives back.

We need to ask and answer honestly ourselves the following questions. No one can answer that for you. People may come along side with you and cheer you on. The truth is only you can choose your own path and walk your own life journey.  Love yourself enough to figure this out, don’t let another year go by doing same old stuff. After all February is a month of love. Self love is not selfish. Without loving ourselves, we will be running on empty, unhappy and resentful.

What do you want to see come to pass in 2016?

What do you want to do in 2016?

What are you believing for in 2016?

What you want to achieve in your personal,  work and spiritual life?

What are you passionate about?

What you want to contribute in your world to make a difference?

What new things you are going to do or try?

What calculated risk you are going to take?

Leaving you with some wise quotes to ponder:

Believe that God is doing something  NEW!

“This is what GOD says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies— they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun-baked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose, the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.” -‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:16-21‬ ‭MSG‬

Seven Bridges Walk

Good Day, Beautiful People!

October is flying too fast for me. Work front is demanding and not forgetting all the commitments and social engagements. Too many things to do and have enough time for everything as usual.

Here October we try to create all cancer awareness, especially pink ribbon. Some call me crazy to sign up for 27km, seven bridges walk for Cancer Council. I never walked that kind of distance before. It was my very first try.  Last year I did city to surf which 14km run for those who already following me  last year knew this. There are a few reasons why I do this walk. It is my personal healing journey, to raise awareness, fundraising, in rememberance of loved ones who fought cancer and migrated to heaven and friends that went through cancer hell and back. Some still awaiting for God’s miracle for their lives.

Every time, I sign up for something tremendous or enormous, something will play up or the enemy will try to create a havoc in order to get you. A bit anxious since I signed up, my body was not 100% again. I had bad hayfever, sinusitis and allergy itchy cough. Normally, I’m a person who love to embrace change, a challenge and try new things. Life is too short to do the same old things.

Well, I’m determined to finish the daunting 27km long walk. I prepared my heart and body for the big day, 25th October 2015.  This fundraiser event is hosted by Cancer Council NSW yearly to raise money for research and create awareness for different cancers. They’re celebrating 10th anniversary for seven bridges walk this year which is pretty special.

Some of the word I meditate:

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. – Phil4:13

Be strong and courageous. – Deut31:6

I will never leave you nor forsake you. – Heb13:5

For nothing is impossible with God. – Lk1:37

The fact about long walk is not only great to train your mind, body and spirit to the next level of good positive thinking, endurance, perseverance, determination, attitude of “DONT GIVE UP!”and toughen your body. It also helps you to clear your mind of all the garbage, detox your mind and focus on the things that really matter.

The map of the 27km 7 bridges walk:

So pleased to let you know I did it and complete it with my walking buddy and a few other friends. There is a will, there is a way!  By the way, age is not the limit. As I have witnessed kids as young as seven and silver hair seniors in their seventies or eighties doing it and complete the walk.  Not forgetting,  moms and bubs with prams and people who are physically challenged who managed to do this walk!

I proud to show you some photos I’ve taken on the walk.

Happy New Year [Bonne Année, Feliz Año Nuevo]

Good Day, Beautiful People!

I’m aware 2014 to some are aweful and others are awesome. Thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort to those who grieve during this season. So thankful that I have learnt valuable lessons, grown stronger and more mature due to another year of crazy roller coaster ride. As we farewell 2014, sing auld Lang syne and welcome 2015 with new canvas paint in new Blessing, Hope, Dreams, Vision, Inspiration, Goals, Joy, Laughter, Fun, Peace, Health, Love, Prosperity and really Live! Wishing you Happy and Blessed 2015!

Believing for new personal breakthrough for us and new opportunities awaiting for us in 2015. Isn’t it awesome to know that by His grace and favour usher us to new opportunities.
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like ignorant people, but like wise people. Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days. Don’t be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.” (Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15-17‬ GNB)

Trusting God to open door that no man can close and close door no man can open for us in 2015 and always.

To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. (‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭7-8, 20‬ NIV)

Remember when God gives you a new beginning, it starts with an ending. Be thankful for closed doors, they often guide us to the right one. Every single time whenever a door closed behind me, God has lead me to a better place – a place I would never gone had it not been a “closed door”. Trust God. He simply longs to take you from good to better and then better to best every single time.

Many have anxiety and concern the days we are living in. Whenever and whatever I am concerned also concerns God. That is one of His promise.
The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. (‭Psalms‬ ‭138‬:‭8‬ NASB)
Be encouraged that God knows all about our need and He is concerned about us.

VIVID Sydney Festival 2014

Good Day, Beautiful People!
I have been wanting to share with you my obsession with NO OTHER NAME, light and attraction to this magificient city that I fell in love with as long as I could remember. As a travel bug, I fell in love in many cities and countries. Nevertheless, Qantas’ slogan spells my heart out ” I still call Australia Home.” Furthermore, the song  simply beckons me back.

Enjoy some of my crazy snaps during Vivid Festival 2014 in this fascinating Sydney.

Below are a few quotes I mull over when I am gazing at my photos.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. –Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars. – Og Mandino

We have to confront ourselves. Do we like what we see in the mirror? And, according to our light, according to our understanding, according to our courage, we will have to say yea or nay – and rise!  -Maya Angelou

Leaving you with the Living Word:

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. -John1:5

Be mature, move on and have a nice day.]

Good Day, Beautiful People!

Life is full of ups and down, not always smooth. We can all wish life is like a bed of roses. Granted that you are in this life journey sooner or later you will face challenges.  Not many can escape from relationship, financial, health, emotional, addiction, crisis and ultimately mortality. Sometime, it takes some drastic drama happen to us either to our loved ones or friends for us to be awaken from our stupor. At that instant, we have to make a decision to crumble or to fight. I hope we choose to be brave and live with intention and purpose. You may choose to think this will never happen to me so I can choose to live life carelessly and frivolously have nobody to answer to. Actually, you are right. That is the freedom of choice. Although that is true, why wait till crisis happen then make a choice when you can do it now. Search your heart, ask yourself are you living your life purposefully toward your destiny.

Trust me, is not everyday, 12th of May 2014, I wake up to a brave and beautiful friend, Nerralea Van Der Merwe featured on news by the work of another super creative and marvellous friend, Kym Thomson.
It is incredible to see Nezz rises up and refuses to give up attitude. Beyond doubt, Nezz’s faith, conviction, people who love her like family and friends, church and support groups has make her an overcomer and not a victim of cancer. Nezz is not the only person I know that went through this cancer journey. You know who you are. I will not mention your names here without your permission. Thank you for being brave and navigate this path so well.

Of course, I am very proud of my friends’ achievement and will continue to cheer them on! Beside, I am a bit jaded by reading all the negativity, bad news most of the time. I find it refreshing and inspiring to read good news, news that bring hope. Nevertheless, the reason I am sharing this story is I know that there are people out there who need to know there is hope in the darkness. Folks who are still in the midst of their storm need to focus on Jesus, your captain, keep declaring health, and  look far away at the horizon.

Believe in your future self. Don’t be push by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Isn’t this a good reminder for most of us as young and older women need to embrace our bodies. Regardless what the world says about your body. You are beautiful because you are created in the image of your Creator.

She is a dreamer, a doer, a thinker. She sees possibility everywhere.

Look at the beautiful and amazing Nezz now, trim and fit!

Above Photo taken by Nerralea Van Der Merwe.

I leave you with this thought. The living word states: “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” -Matt 19:26

Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah)

Today we marked a significant day in history. It is also known as Holocaust Memorial Day. Many Jewish communities in the world will observe this solemn day where approximately 6 millions Jews perished in WWII.

Five years ago, I was in Amsterdam. I fell in love with the people of Netherlands. It is such a beautiful country, the Dutch are the friendliest people on earth. People there are so helpful. Even Before I asked for direction whenever people saw me in trouble, they just stopped and assisted me and point me the direction to my next destination.

I visited Anne Frank Museum and I did not come out the same way I went in. Be prepared for the long queue but it was bearable. This amazing brave, strong and independent little girl has inspired me and so many others.
I think in her wildest dream, would she know that many people over the world come and visit her hiding place, the secret Annex and read her diary. What a legacy she left behind.

The Diary of a young Girl was published later but the 1st edition of Anne Frank’s diary is called Het Achterhuis ( The Secret) 1947. If you have not read and are keen to chew a good book. This book I highly recommend.
To me, Anne Frank is the voice of the 6 million voiceless, oppressed and perished.

Love her famous quote:
“Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.”

Good Day, Beautiful People!
Your truest Friends are the one who will stand by you in your darkest moments because they’re willing to brave the shadows with you. And in your greatest moments because they’re not afraid to let you shine. – Nicole Yatsonsky

Cultivate real friendship is important to our journey in life. They make your life more crazy, fun, interesting, refreshing… like having your own cheerleaders when you’re facing challenges. Friends enrich your life journey.

Today, one of my beautiful friends surprise me with a bouquet of sweet roses and took me to a yummy Thai Restaurant near my workplace for a delish Thai cuisine.

So thankful for friends that are real & looking out for you. So blessed.
